MUSEUM TO DISPLAY UW ART DEPARTMENT FACULTY ARTWORK

Exhibition to include new and adjunct faculty

The University of Wyoming Art Museum is pleased to feature the UW Art Department in an exhibition of recent artwork by current faculty. “Art Department studio faculty are nationally and internationally recognized creative artists,” said Ricki Klages, art department head. “The commitment to the creative process is equal to the commitment to excellence in arts education. We are fortunate to have a faculty dedicated to their respective media and working across a broad range of aesthetic and technical approaches to studio practice. There is not a universal departmental approach or style. Instead, faculty express their individual artistic vision with integrity and passion.”

In addition to paintings by Klages, the UW Art Department Faculty Exhibition is comprised of artwork by Ashley Hope Carlisle (sculpture), Mark Ritchie (printmaking), Leah Hardy (metals), Pat Kikut (painting), Doug Russell (drawing), Shelby Shadwell (drawing), Diane Baumbauch (mixed media), Jenny Venn (graphic design), Margaret K. Haydon (ceramics), and David Jones (sculpture).

An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1 from 6-8 p.m. The UW Art Department Faculty Exhibition continues through March 1.
