"Artistic Discovery 2008" exhibits student art

Visitors to Cheyenne can take in the annual summer gallery exhibit of student artwork at the Wyoming Arts Council.

"Artistic Discovery 2008" showcases 24 two-dimensional and a dozen three-dimensional works by Wyoming students. The work was displayed in April at the annual High School Art Symposium in Casper. Outside judges selected 25 2-D pieces for Congressionaql Art Awards. First place went to an acrylic painting, "Rocking Horse," by Kirsten Garber of Sheridan High School. It will be displayed for a year in the hall that connects the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C., with the House of Representatives offices. The 24 honorable mentions are included in the WAC Gallery show.
