Register online now for Equality State Bookfest workshops, book fair and banquet

The Equality State Book Festival offers a slick new online system to register for the event's workshops, banquet and book fair. We may be a bit biased because we serve on the ESBF planning committee. But we also understand the difficulties in assembling a registration system for any event. The Wyoming Arts Council still is searching for the most efficient and cost-effective way to register people online for its Governor's Arts Awards events and biennial Wyoming Arts Summit.

While most of the offerings of the Equality State Book Festival are free, there are fees for the Friday (Sept. 19) banquet, Saturday (Sept. 20) book fair tables and the four writing workshops (Sept. 18-19) conducted by University of Wyoming creative writing faculty. Workshop leaders this year are Alyson Hagy, Beth Loffreda, David Romtvedt, and H.L. Hix.

Each two-day workshop is limited to 20 students each on a first-come, first-served basis. All workshops will be held in the Strausner Student Center and run two-and-one-half hours each day. You can earn .5 Casper College continuing education units (CEU) per workshop. Fees are $75 for non-students and $50 for students.

Book fair tables go for $75 for commercial entities and $50 for nonprofits. Banquet tickets are $25 apiece.

Register online now, especially for the workshops as space will go fast.

Wyomingarts blog sends its kudos to the tech-savvy IT people at Casper College, host and main sponsor (along with the Casper College Foundation) of the bookfest.
