Sheridan College art instructor Ryan Muldowney’s art show entitled “Representations and Abstractions: Meditating on the Wyoming Landscape” will be on display the Sheridan College Martinsen Gallery in Sheridan through December.
Muldowney , a native of Philadelphia, recently joined the faculty of Sheridan College as an instructor of painting, drawing, printmaking, and art history. The son of a practicing artist, Muldowney said he has had the unique experience to benefit from formal artistic training from a very young age.
“Many of my earliest memories involve the smell of oil paints and turpentine in my father’s studio and watching him paint,” Muldowney said.
Muldowney said he has really enjoyed the change of scenery that a move to Wyoming has provided, and his painting, his palette, his forms and textures are all becoming inexorably influenced by the wild beauty of the Wyoming landscape.
