Wyoming Art for the Cure, A Celebration of Art and Life is encouraging artists to submit original artwork for auction at the gala event on April 23, 2010 in Cheyenne, Wyo.
The event is a fundraiser for the Wyoming Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Patrons bid on original, donated artwork from local and nationally-recognized artists to raise money for breast cancer programs. Over 75 percent of the funds raised at the event stay in Wyoming to fight breast cancer in the state.
Event attendees vote for their favorite works with cash prizes of $200 for First Place and $100 for Second Place awarded in the categories of: Mixed Media, Water-based, Sculpture, Pastel or Drawing, Oil, and Photography. A "Best in Show" winner is also selected and awarded a $300 cash prize.
Interested artists must make a commitment to submitting a piece by Feb. 19, 2010 and all artwork must be received by Wyoming Art for the Cure by April 16, 2010. Artwork will be displayed on the event Web site at www.komenwyoming.org/wyomingartforthecure upon receipt.
