The Corridor Gallery in downtown Casper announces “Skewed Views,” an upcoming guest show opening on October 15 at 7 p.m. It will feature the work of Casper artist Matt Baker and former Casper resident Elliot Lang. “Skewed Views” unifies the work of two artists with vastly different styles with common subject matter. Both Elliot and Matt have created a body of work thematic to the subject of animals.
Elliot Lang will be debuting a body of work studying the science of fashion on animals. Elliot has always been intrigued with the sociological patterns and trends of fashion on humans. For “Skewed Views”, Elliot is implementing his theories of fashion into the animal world. Elliot’s work is primarily pencil, oil and acrylic on paper with mixed media.
Matt Baker adds to “Skewed Views” by his debut showing of ultratechnical, extreme detail oriented and metaphoric views on animals and insects. Paralleling human achievement and social progression, Baker’s works of pen, ink and mixed media hold tight with discipline and concept. Baker integrates influences of biology, botany and electronics.
The public and press are invited to join Matt Baker and Elliot Lang for the opening reception on the evening of Friday, October 15, at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar at hand and the artists will be available for questions. “Skewed Views” will ONLY be showing through Sunday, October 17.
