Click” is what happens when you reconnect with colleagues and get inspired by new ideas, which occurs continually when Wyoming artists congregate. That dialogue and sharing is as essential for success as having the right paintbrushes.” Sue Sommers, Pinedale artist.

CLICK! A Weekend for Wyoming Visual Artists is an event designed to engage Wyoming artists in strengthening and building their careers.  Held in conjunction with the Wyoming Arts Council's Visual Arts Fellowship awards ceremony, CLICK! will challenge seasoned and emerging artists alike to consider how they might take control of their professional careers through strategic planning, community building and networking. Peers and invited experts will present ideas and opportunities both within and outside the state for professional artists dedicated to living and working in Wyoming.

Friday, March 30,

Pick up a map at registration and take a self-guided tour around Pinedale to see a new mural, public art, and the solo exhibit by Cristy Anspach at Isabel Jewelry and Gallery, 21 N. Franklin Ave

6 p.m., Welcome Reception, Sublette County Public Library. Comprised of five Wyoming artists, Pipeline: Pumping Art from the Energy State of Wyoming presents the work of JB Bond, Wendy Bredehoft, David Klaren, Susan Moldenhauer, and Sue Sommers.  Collectively, their work is inspired by Wyoming's landscape and contemporary life.  Also included in the exhibition will be a re-creation of Pipeline's booth at the Red Dot Art Fair during Art Basel | Miami Beach art week in December 2011. Food will be served; cash bar.

Presented by the UW Art Museum

20:20 | CLICK! is a fast-paced presentation format whereby presenters are allotted 20 images, which are shown for 20 seconds each. The total presentation time for each presenter is therefore only 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Presentations by individual visual artists, art groups and educators from across the state are welcome. 20:20 is an opportunity to share accomplishments, new work and new ideas from across the region.

Advance sign-up is required and offered on a first come, first served basis. 20 images must be in a PowerPoint format and sent to UW Art Museum Assistant Curator Rachel Miller by Wednesday, March 21. A series of succinct, informative presentations on a wide range of topics that address various aspects of career-building for artists. Presenters include the three jurors for the Visual Arts Fellowships: Leanne Goebel, award-winning arts writer; Napoleon Jones-Henderson, artist, educator, activist, and “citizen of the Universe”; and Karen Rogers, gallerist and founder of Visual Artist Advisory career development services.  They are joined by Wyoming-based artists and other visual arts professionals. Lunch is included.

·         Ucross Foundation, on residencies as a catalyst for advancing artistic careers

·         Diana Baumbach, artist and UW art faculty, on achieving international opportunities
·         Karen Rogers, WAC Fellowship juror, working with visual artists to advance their careers
·         Lisa Hatchadoorian, curator, Nicolaysen Art Museum, on the conceptual basis for curatorial processes
·         Ricki Klages, artist and head, UW Art Department, on building an exhibition record
·         Napoleon Jones-Henderson, WAC Fellowship juror, on “we must be about the business of expressing what is beautiful – ourselves”
·         Steve Schrepferman, artist, on building community connections that support visual artists (board work, school residences)
·       Clay Paper Scissors Gallery & Studio, on multi use spaces that support artist work
·       Wendy Bredehoft and Susan Moldenhauer, artists and arts administrators, on Sequencing, a partnership on advancing the creative process

6 p.m., WAC Fellowship Awards Banquet, Rendezvous Point
Presentations by Fellowship Jurors and the announcement of this year’s Visual Artist Fellowship Award Winners.  Dinner is included, cash bar.

Sunday, April 1
8 AM  Registration at the Sublette County Public Library
9 am – noon Portfolio Reviews with WAC Fellowship Jurors
Sign up in advance for an opportunity to have a 10-minute portfolio review with one of the WAC Fellowship jurors or Lisa Hatchadoorian from the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper. Spaces are limited; fellowship applicants will receive preference; others will be first come, first served.

If you would like to be placed on a waiting list, please check the box on the registration form. You will be notified at least one week in advance if you are scheduled for a session with a juror. Plan to bring your portfolio to the session for review; we recommend following the Visual Arts Fellowships guidelines for number of pieces, sizes, etc. PC laptops will be available, but it is the responsibility of the artist to ensure their portfolio can be read by the computer.  Artists may bring their own laptops if desired.
