Turpen performs at CSU on Sept. 26
University of Wyoming music professor Dr. Scott Turpen on saxophone and Theresa Bogard on piano will present contemporary classical saxophone music from their upcoming recording project, featuring sonatas influenced by the jazz and classical realms for alto or soprano saxophone by Bill Dobbins, Phil Woods and Jinrich Feld. Dr. Turpen is the Director of Jazz Studies and Assistant Professor of Music-Saxophone at UW. In demand as a performer and clinician of jazz and classical music, Dr. Turpen has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. The performance is on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 7:30 p.m., in Casavant Music Hall in the Dept. of Music Bldg. at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
