From a press release:
The cinnamon teal will be the subject of the 26th Annual Wyoming Conservation Stamp Art competition. This will be the first time a waterfowl game species will adorn the stamp since a Canada Goose was selected as winner in the first competition.
Each year the Wyoming Game and Fish Department selects one species to be the subject of the competition and eventually appear on more than 200,000 conservation stamps. Prize money of $2,500 is also awarded to the winner. Second place receives $1,500; third, $1,000; fourth, $500; and fifth, $250.
The competition is open to professional artists. Entries will be accepted Jan.1-March 1. Information including rules and deadlines on the Conservation Stamp art contest is now on the Game and Fish Web site. Printed rules and entry forms will be available soon and will be mailed to requesting artists. Artists may also choose to review the rules and use the forms on the Game and Fish Web site.
Last year's winning artwork featured the great gray owl painted by William Smith of Jackson Hole.
