"Take your snuggie out" for a night on the town

Chicagoans David Barnes and Dan Kuthy are taking the snuggie--the blanket with arms--away from the couch and onto the streets.

They have organized a "Snuggie Pub Crawl," for April 18. Participants will shuffle down Clark Street, wearing their favorite color (there are only three to choose from, what's up with that?) of snuggie.

Over 1,150 people have replied back to the website, http://www.snuggiepubcrawl.com/, set up to take names of the interested. And just think how many people were able to reply from the confort of their home while wearing their snuggies!

Barnes and Kuthy have full time Internet marketing jobs in Chicago. Other cities have gotten into the snuggie spirit, as well.

You can eat popcorn, pet your dog, play backgammon, talk on the phone, hug somebody, and cheer for your favorite team, and now, go to your favorite bar, all while wearing the blanket with arms.

So forget about budget woes and the stock market deflating (maybe they could have snuggie Friday), and get out and celebrate the snuggie.

Three cheers for the snuggie!
