Pam Nowak, my one-upon-a-time writing colleague in the Cheyenne Area Writers' Group, was notified July 24 that her 2008 novel "Chances" has received a 2009 WILLA Finalist Award in Historical Fiction from Women Writing the West.Pam will travel to the Women Writing the West conference Sept. 11-13 on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles to find out if she wins the WILLA.
