Ani DiFranco performs at UW April 21

From a UW press release:

Student tickets for grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco's University of Wyoming performance in Laramie go on sale Monday, March 8, for $10.

DiFranco will perform at the UW College of Arts & Sciences auditorium Wednesday, April 21, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the general public go on sale March 15 for $18. Tickets can be purchased at the Wyoming Union information desk, the Fine Arts box office, by phone at (307) 766-6666 or online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Concerts and Convocations lead programmer Paul Gallegos says, "The university is very happy to bring in an iconic folksinger like Ani DiFranco. This is a performance nobody in the region will want to miss, especially considering the subsidized ticket price."

The Buffalo, N.Y.-based recording artist and founder of Righteous Babe Records has released more than 20 albums and is considered by many to be a feminist icon. Buddy Wakefield, a Seattle-based author and slam poet, will open the concert.

For more information about the concert, or to arrange assistance to attend this event, call the Campus Activities Center at (307) 766-6340.
