Casper College Concert Band performs Dec. 10

The Casper College Concert Band will present its annual Winter Concert on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. in Durham Recital Hall.

According to Douglas Bull, brass instructor and band director, selections this year have been taken from the “many requests that we have had from the community and students.”

“Selections include Leroy Anderson's ‘Christmas Festival,’ a fanciful setting of ‘Jingle Bells’ by Jay Dawson, a moving arrangement of ‘Silent Night,’ and ‘March Of The Toy Soldiers’ from Victor Herbert's ‘Toyland.’ It should an afternoon of seasonal enjoyment culminating in the audience being filled with the spirit if the season,” said Bull.

Several other Casper College groups will also provide seasonal music during the Winter Concert, including the brass, flute, jazz, and percussion ensembles.

The Winter Concert is free and open to the public. Durham Recital Hall is located in the Aley Fine Arts Center.

Casper College is proud to have been listed at #25 in the 2011 rankings of U.S. community colleges by www.StateUniversity.com.
