If you are out and about in Cheyenne this Friday afternoon, drop by Pointe Frontier's upstairs mezzanine to check out the Art Show. Some Cheyenne Artists Guild members and Pointe Frontier residents will be showing their work from 2-6 p.m. today! Pointe Frontier is located at 1406 Prairie Ave. (two-story building at the corner of Prairie and Powerhouse).

Nominations due Aug. 2 for Gene D. Cohen Award for Creativity and Aging

The Gene D. Cohen Award, sponsored by the National Center for Creative Aging (NCCA), recognizes and honors the seminal work of Dr. Gene Cohen, whose research in the field of creativity and aging has shifted the conceptual focus from a problem paradigm to one of promise and potential. Dr. Cohen has inspired us to approach longevity asking what wonders can be achieved, not in spite of age, but because of age. The award is presented annually to a professional whose research in the field of creativity and aging demonstrates these positive attributes.

Requirements
• A formal nomination letter
• A brief statement (maximum 500 words) detailing how the nominee meets the
criteria of the award
• Research Abstract
• Peer review articles or other related documents
• Up to 2 letters of support

"Arts and Aging Toolkit" available

Creativity Matters: The Arts and Aging Toolkit, written by Johanna Misey Boyer of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA), describes "strategies for enhancing health in older adults through participatory arts programs." The toolkit was published by the National Center for Creative Aging (NCCA), the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC). Copies are available for $35, and may be purchased through the National Guild office at 212-268-3337 ext. 16.
