The Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) will hold its next quarterly board meeting on Feb. 23-24, at Little America in Cheyenne.
The WAC board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 24. Comments about the agency's policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system, and other arts-related topics are welcomed.
At the meeting, WAC board members will approve the slate of 2012-2013 roster artists, evaluate and award Community Arts Partnership (CAP) grants, review and approve the new Communication Plan for the Arts Council, evaluate progress on the agency’s long range plan, and discuss the 2010 statistics for the Wyoming Creative Vitality Index (CVI).
Presentations to the Board will include Warehouse Twenty One’s Communication Plan proposal; the Director of Beet Street from Fort Collins, CO will present information on professional development opportunities for Wyoming’s artists and arts organizations; and the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) regional arts organization will update the board on their current programs.
On Friday at noon, WAC Board members will attend the Wyoming Arts Alliance’s Arts Advocacy Day with Legislators at the Herschler Building. They will also attend the 30th annual Governor’s Arts Awards event will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at Little America.
The mission of the Wyoming Arts Council is to provide leadership and invest resources to sustain, promote and cultivate excellence in the arts.
