Lander's David Neary named new board chair for Wyoming Arts Council

The Wyoming Arts Council announces the election of new board chair David Neary. He accepted the gavel from outgoing board chair Bruce Richardson.

Neary is producing and technical director for the Wyoming Shakespeare Company, based in Lander. From 1990-2004, Neary was director of land conservation, associate state director, and state director for The Nature Conservancy; he also was director of (1984-1989) and an instructor (1972-1989) for the National Outdoor Leadership School, Rocky Mountain division.

Bruce Richardson, who has served on the Wyoming Arts Council Board for the past five years, was reappointed as a board member for another three-year term by Governor Freudenthal. Richardson, from Casper, is a Professor of English for U.W. at Casper College, and has served on the boards of several Casper arts organizations. Currently, Richardson represents the State of Wyoming as an officer on the board of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies.
