The Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) will hold its quarterly board meeting in Lander August 11-12. The meeting will be held in the National Outdoor Leadership School Board Room, from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until business is concluded on Friday.
Agenda items include: Review and discussion of progress made on the WAC’s Long Range Plan, including a new Communications Plan for the WAC; Review of Community Arts Partner grant application; Presentation of Folk Arts Program Evaluation; Selection of candidates for recommendation to Governor as Wyoming’s next Poet Laureate; Review and discussion of WAC grant programs; discussion of upcoming WAC sponsored events; and appointment of WAC Board committees for FY2011/2012.
The board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 11. Comments about the agency's policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system, and other arts-related topics are welcomed. At the conclusion of Thursday’s session, a public reception for members of the WAC Board and the greater Lander community will be held from 6-7 p.m. at the Lander Art Center , 224 Main Street . Sponsors of the reception are the Lander Art Center and the Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company.
